Welcome to Mindfuling, the podcast with Paul M. Cheevers

Mindfulness meditation is not a thing — it is an activity of doing. It is key to an eight faceted practice capable of freeing us from discontent. Being mindful is being deeper than the ocean, stronger than practiced aversion, quicker than chronic bad habits and easier than pi(e)!

Please Note: Hot Zombies Cool Buddhas (HZCB) episodes have been taken out of rotation. A compilation with extra dimension is being assembled — stay tuned for a future release.

Walking Meditation is a very important practice. Start simply and comfortably. So many benefits but each step matters and building awareness of walking can be very tricky. Walking activates the mind and it is the mind we are training when we walk along with the body, which of course includes the beating heart.

A 4' 33" sound meditation. With a dog named Moxie. In a vehicle. Wicked windy outside and the surf is churning about a hundred feet away. All these words are not the point of listening. They actually come after the experience. So quick we are to add to what is experienced. Keep it real, keep it raw.

So you get sick, we all do, and you take a vacay from formal practice. Of course. Or of course not. Practiciing while sick is great. (However, practicing with others when you are a huffing contaminant, that's a different story.) This podcast can be great for practicing whilst not feeling so great.

Keywords: sickness, illness, practice, meditation, breath awareness, continuity

Transition from a Breath Awareness through a Sound Awareness to a General Awareness and back again is discussed and practiced. You can use the breath as your sole object but you can move into a wider mode of awareness once a steady awareness is established. This is not easy to do with true moment-to-moment fidelity but give it a try. Beware of Ping Pong mind during the transitions.

This is a giant MAW (Mindfuling At Weekend) episode! As offered previously, this turns out to be super dense and extremely condensed—probably too much—and too much to take as a future series of our weekly meditations. On the other hand it is a convenient arc for a mindfulness practice that begins with the inspiring realization that life is short and has consequences. However, be wary of taking it all too seriously, else zombies demolish your presence, as our serialized Hot Zombies Cool Buddhas returns!

So, you have the power to pause and return to your awareness at any time, under any circumstances including a too-packed podcast or a springtime snow storm!

Keywords: serial radio drama, mindfulness, metta, sound meditation, standing meditation, uillean bagpipes, saint Patrick's, Boston, ireland, buddha, buddhism, zombie, budda, fiction, serial, serialized
